BOWL
Glazed Ceramic
Khmer, Cambodia, 12th century
D 21 cm
Bowl of inverted campanula shape with a pedestal foot and raised disk in the centre of the interior. The bowl is glazed in an opaque dark, blackish-brown glaze.
Khmer glazed ceramics were made mainly for religious ritual use in the community and unlike other eastern ceramics were never treated as a trade item. |
