POT Ceramic Chimú, Peru, circa 10th century Ø 12 cm A bulbous ceramic pot in the form of a head of a jaguar. The surface is polished and the features of the animal are rendered in relief. A small spout emerges from the fierce teeth and protruding ears are placed on each side of the neck. The animal has a curious set of features with an almost human expression. |
